Phono Sounds is looking for an experienced WordPress Web Developer (Freelance/Contract) to work across the Phono Sounds family of websites. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a growing record label and help shape its digital presence on a flexible, project-based basis.
Job Description
As an experienced WordPress Developer, you will play a key role in supporting the company’s digital growth by working on a variety of projects. Your primary focus will be building visually appealing, high-performing, and user-friendly WordPress websites. You should have a minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience with WordPress and PHP, along with a strong understanding of front-end and back-end development best practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with design and internal teams on WordPress-based projects
• Develop and implement custom WordPress themes and plugins
• Optimise websites for performance, speed, and SEO
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve WordPress and front-end issues
• Maintain, update, and improve existing websites
• Stay up to date with the latest WordPress and web development trends
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with WordPress and PHP
• Strong skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with responsive web design
• Proven experience with WordPress theme and plugin development
• Ability to work independently, manage your own time, and meet deadlines
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Clear and professional communication skills
