Summer Paid Intern - Data Strategy and Operations

Data Strategy and Operations Summer 2023 Internship (Hybrid - Los Angeles, CA)


Overview of Department:

The Data Strategy & Operations team is a group that sits under the larger Paramount Social Corporate Research team. We work closely with the Corporate stakeholders, Streaming, Brand Research teams, Social/Marketing, Sourcing/Procurement, Finance and Legal. Our team is responsible for ensuring digital, streaming, and social data is available and can be reported to Senior Leadership Teams who use these reports to make business decisions and drive the business forward. We manage our own internal data metrics along with external 3rd party vendor data. We work with 10 external data providers who provide anything from mobile analytics, social buzz & volume, social video analytics and website analytics.

Responsibilities:

• 25% of the Intern's work will be assisting in digital vendor research and data validations. This would include providing overviews of what data the vendor provides and how it could drive our business forward, as well as verifying that their data and methodology is validated.
• 25% of the Intern's work will be assisting in the managing of business reviews and new product releases with 3rd party data providers. The Intern will assist in drafting communications to relevant teams that will find the information helpful for their reporting needs.
• 25% of the Intern's work will be assigning and cleaning up user logins to ensure the teams have the tools and correct permissions to successfully report data.
• 25% of the Intern's work will be reviewing budgets, contracts, and any upcoming renewals so that we can properly justify expense and are covered legally across Paramount.

Additional Qualifications:

• Microsoft Suite (Excel)
• Familiar with large datasets

Important notes:
• The team's summer format will be hybrid out of our 1575 N Gower Street office in Los Angeles. They are not looking for a fully remote intern. We do not cover the cost of housing or transportation.
• Internships are paid at a standard competitive hourly rate, so proper work authorization is needed to be employed within the United States. The pay rate for this role is $20/hr.
• The program starts in June and runs for 10 weeks.
• Interns must be available to work full time (5 days) per week (no weekends). Normal business hours are 9:30AM to 5:30PM.
• You must be a rising junior, senior or master's student to be eligible (December 2023-May 2025 grads).
• College credit is optional, not required. We will provide appropriate documentation if necessary.
