News Producer

WJZ is looking for a dynamic Producer to work on linear and streaming newscasts.

The role requires close coordination with News Managers, Assignment Desk, Digital Team, and Broadcast Line Producers. You will create a compelling show based on the news of the day while meeting WJZ brand objectives.

Responsibilities include:

• Formatting and managing a daily broadcast.
• Assist fellow Producers and managers to lead a team of anchors, reporters, photographers, editors and writers.
• Help with daily production, content and aggressive execution of news.
• Write scripts for your show and assist other producers.
• Anticipate the needs of the show regarding video, graphics, scripts and other elements.
• Follow the news and produce content in a compelling way.
• Develop creative presentation of news and produce highly creative teases.
• Onsite work.

Qualifications/Skills:

• Two years’ experience in creating and building show rundowns in a broadcast or digital environment, or strong experience in a college journalism program.
• Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work under extremely deadlines.
• Availability to work night or weekends.
