We are seeking a Counsel with extensive expertise related to news and media law, transactions, and digital distribution. The group works in a fast paced and fast-paced environment requiring quick and creative thinking and rapid-response counseling, swift and sound risk assessment, and excellent judgment. The Counsel is encouraged to collaborate with an expert team of collegial and dedicated lawyers and assist in managing and mentoring junior lawyers on the team. They'll advise on all aspects of newsgathering, pre-publication content review, and post-publication matters, and will be responsible for contract drafting and review.

QUALIFICATIONS
• JD degree with excellent academic credentials; admitted to the New York Bar
• At least 4 years’ of proven experience in news review, media law, or litigation. Experience preparing and examining contracts in digital distribution, technology, content licensing, production, and services agreements.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters
• Ability to efficiently and optimally balance multiple tasks with minimal day-to-day oversight/direction
• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment and to perform composed while performing multiple tasks for a diverse and skilled client base
• Litigation experience is a plus!
