Primary Responsibilities:
Paramount Tech is hiring a Broadcast Distribution Manager to work in Satellite Management Center. The SMC's key responsibilities are to support the Network Distribution of the CBS Network to our Stations, Affiliates and Partners as well as schedule and procure Live Event facilities for our Clients (News, Sports, Entertainment, and Paramount Global).
This position will direct and supervise the scheduling and procurement of transmission facilities to service internal CBS clients and external customers. This includes booking facilities for CBS Live Events and Remotes (satellite space, fiber, uplink trucks, etc.)
The Broadcast Distribution Manager is responsible for the CBS TV Stations receive equipment and provides real time computer control and Level 1 technical support for 209 CBS Affiliates. Additional support is also provided to Paramount.
This position works in a 24x7 Network Operations Center which monitors and maintains the Satellite, Fiber and terrestrial distribution for the CBS Network, DABL affiliates and Paramount.
Basic Qualifications
• 5 years’ experience with knowledge in the communications industry is required.
• Comprehensive understanding of video compression formats and technology.
• Understanding of RF transmission, encoding and decoding.
• Strong baseline knowledge of Networking, IP streaming and Data delivery.
• Strong organization skills, be detailed oriented and able to multitask.
Additional Qualifications
• Prior experience as a Technical Support, Master Control Operator or Earth Station Technician is a plus.
• Candidate must be willing to operate in a 365-day -24 x 7 environment. This includes working all shifts to support 24 x 7 operations.
• Proficiency with Schedule All, Service Now, Microsoft Office including Visio, Excel and MS Word.
• Strong communications skills, oral and written to detail station reports.
• Bachelor of Science Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
