e're looking for a Marketing & Publishing Intern to work directly with the company's executives across the full publishing pipeline.
Responsibilities include:
Reviewing social media posts and contributing to social strategy
Sitting in on design, development, and publishing strategy meetings
Playtesting builds in development and providing structured feedback
Helping manage and grow our Discord community
Reviewing incoming game concepts and pitches
Research and miscellaneous projects supporting marketing and publishing
Ideal applicants have an interest in game publishing, community management, or entertainment marketing. Familiarity with Discord, social platforms, and indie games is a plus; direct experience with community management or games media coverage is even better.
This will be a HYBRID REMOTE/IN PERSON experience, and we are happy to blend the two to fit each intern's situation. Projects span licensed and original IP across console, PC, and emerging platforms.
This position is a great opportunity for anyone seeking hands-on experience in game publishing and marketing at a startup where interns work directly with the founders. The position is for university/college credit only.
The position is open now and is flexible depending on the applicant's academic schedule. We ask that applicants set aside two days a week (M-F) to be available for assignments (roughly 12 hours a week). We are happy to work around dates and times that conflict with class or work hours.

Nitrate Games is an independent video game publisher specializing in transforming licensed entertainment IP into modern, interactive experiences. Our team, which includes professionals from comics, film, TV, and game development, collaborates with entertainment brands and a curated network of internal and external development studios to bring each title to market. We support the full publishing lifecycle, including IP acquisition, production oversight, marketing, and distribution, allowing studios to focus on development while we manage the business aspects of bringing games to players. Our current slate includes six titles in active development, featuring a range of IP from cult and pop-culture brands to family and all-ages properties, across PC, console, and emerging platforms. Our first announced game is based on Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse, titled "Jay and Silent Bob's Joint Venture," set for release in 2027.
