We're seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to ensure that our financial operations are smooth and compliant, allowing us to continue to thrive in the ever-evolving creative sector.
The Part-Time Bookkeeper position will play a role in the day to day financial operations of our business. This role will include maintaining accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online, handling accounts payable/receivable, generating reports, and ensuring timely reconciliation and organization of financial documentation. You'll work closely with the leadership team to ensure smooth financial operations.
Duties
• Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure all business financial transactions are accurately recorded.
• Ensure all financial documentation is properly filed and organized (digital and physical records)
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly
• Manage accounts payable, vendor payments, and expense tracking to ensure timely payments.
• Process and organize client invoices and payments to ensure timely collections.
• Track and report marketing project expenses to assist management with accurate financial reporting and tracking.
• Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues as they arise
• Handle payroll entries (if applicable) and manage 1099s for freelancers or contractors
• Generate monthly and quarterly financial reports, including A/P, A/R, Profit & Loss (P&L), balance sheet, and cash flow reports
• Assist with preparing financial records for tax filing or collaborate with CPA as needed
• Provide recommendations for process improvements in our financial systems
• Support the leadership team with budget preparation, and financial forecasting decisions
Experience
• Proven experience as a bookkeeper, ideally in a creative or marketing environment
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Software (Online/Desktop) and Microsoft Excel is required
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all financial records is required.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, particularly with regards to small business and creative industries is preferred
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, technical accounting, and general ledger accounting principles is preferred.
• Familiarity with financial software and tools for efficient account management is preferred.
• Experience with invoicing, expense tracking, and vendor payments
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and with a team
• Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information
