Netflix Music is looking for a Soundtrack Coordinator who shares our passion for music, great content, and excellence. We are seeking someone that thrives in an environment where freedom and responsibility are a tenet, and passion, innovation and curiosity are mandates.
This unique and exciting role will focus on developing opportunities around our rapidly growing portfolio of original music in Netflix films and animation. This role will maintain close working relationships with Music Creatives, Music Business and Legal Affairs, Marketing, Content Production, and Operations teams. Additional partners will include composers, artists, DSPs, managers, agents, record labels, reporting and performance tracking organizations, etc.
This role will help inform and execute our commercial music & production strategies. The role will focus on operational excellence by streamlining our production practices and exploring ways of using our music to drive conversation to our titles by maximizing engagement around our commercial music releases on various music platforms. Our goal is to drive equity for our titles within the commercial music space.
Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Assist in the the soundtrack and original music release monetization strategy and infrastructure
• Maintain and optimize a high volume, complex workflow of soundtrack production from inception to release
• Manage all aspects of commercial music release creation, production, and distribution
• Work with managers, composers, and music teams to ensure downstream registrations and collections are handled appropriately
• Act as day-to-day project manager and lead on assigned releases, leveraging internal and external resources to ensure products receive the appropriate level of touch and support
• Facilitate approval process of audio and artwork with relevant stakeholders
• Drive alignment of commercial music releases across BALA, MCP, Marketing, Publicity, Awards, etc.
• Product lifecycle management (catalog, royalties, data analysis)
• Build and maintain relationships with physical distribution retailers & partners
• Partner closely with external partners from labels, artists, composers, DSPs, etc.
• Represent commercial music in task forces, meetings, and strategies
• Special Projects, as needed
Skills
and Experience
• Broad experience in the music industry is a must with a minimum of 3 years of commercial music production, distribution, or commercial music experience
• Experience with music content management platforms, commercial music distribution, and reporting platforms and processes
• Sincere understanding of release process & infrastructure
• Strong analytical skills across a wide array of data sets
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced and ambiguous environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with great judgment
• Ability to be discreet, use good judgment and maintain confidential information
• Knowledge of the music business and audience trends, along with understanding of commercial music landscape
