Director of Production Services Operations

As a Director, you will lead the strategy, performance, and day-to-day execution of for Set Lighting and Grip Departments across the Production Services Network. This role is accountable for building and scaling operational excellence through strong leadership, data-driven performance management, and cross-functional collaboration with production partners and vendors.
You will oversee workforce productivity, equipment readiness, and network capacity to ensure operations is able to support production demands. This is inclusive of establishing operational standards, optimizing workflows, and driving continuous improvement. You will ensure all inventory is properly maintained and that safety, compliance, and process controls are consistently executed across all facilities.
Your ability to manage complex operations, measure performance, and collaborate effectively with other departments will be critical to your success in this role. Ultimately, your goal will be to ensure that our production is executed seamlessly, and that we continue to deliver high-quality customer service while meeting operational and financial goals.
What You'll Do:
• Lead warehouse operations across all sites, ensuring standardized, scalable, and high-performing processes from order intake through fulfillment
• Define and maintain operational controls, best practices, and performance expectations for warehouse execution and customer delivery
• Develop resource allocation plans that ensure all operations have appropriate staffing levels, equipment, and capacity to meet operational targets
• Monitor and report on key financial and operational KPIs; translating insights into action plans that improve utilization, throughput, and cost efficiency
• Optimize warehouse capacity, asset utilization, technical test requirements, safety practices, and weekly rental activity to drive consistent operational performance and elevate overall service quality
• Serve as the subject matter expert on specialized rental and capital equipment, guiding teams in proper use cases, operational requirements, and customer applications
• Oversee and support capital and expendable procurement strategies
• Maintain strong knowledge of emerging LED, networking, and production technologies to proactively support client needs
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with motion picture and television production teams to ensure exceptional client experience
• Champion a high-service, client-focused culture across all team interactions
• Support departmental leadership with personnel management, including performance evaluations, scheduling, timekeeping, coaching, and disciplinary actions
• Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and exceptional customer service
• Remain adaptable in a dynamic production environment, adjusting priorities and resources as business needs evolve
• Maintain a thorough understanding of union contracts, labor regulations, and related legal requirements to ensure compliant operations

What You Must Have:
• 10 years of senior management expertise overseeing production support services within the Film and Television industry
• 5 years of experience in Warehouse/Inventory Management
• 5 years of experience using WM/IM systems
• 5 years of experience managing budgets and capital projects
What Would Make You a Stand-out:
• Proven track record of measuring and meeting operational KPIs specific to Production Services and Transportation Operations
• A thorough understanding of all motion-picture, television, broadcast, and events support services, along with continuous shifts that are taking place within the industries competitive landscape
• Experience working with and supporting multiple stakeholders, vendors, and customers across Lighting and Grip business units in different regions
• Ability to interact with all levels of personnel, including executives, operational supervisors, and front-line crew
• Ability to navigate through very complex situations and personalities to ensure we are able to meet operational goals
• Advanced analytical skills: ability to understand multiple operating systems, extract and manage complex data sets, and develop reporting to communicate operational performance and readiness for future initiatives. RT pro experience is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
• Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
Salary/Benefits
$150,000 - $175,000 /year USD
