This is a Full Time Job
The Video Control Specialist will be responsible for managing the overall look of the studio cameras during live and taped shows.
Job Duties
• Expert understanding and in-depth hands-on knowledge of the Ultimatte system, from RCP camera control to Ultimatte adjustment and calibration of a chroma keyed studio. This includes complete color keying of studio graphic walls and floor.
• Responsible for controlling and shading cameras utilizing a fine eye capable of recognizing color and image variations and the skill to adjust the cameras so they match and are properly irised
• Confers & collaborates with the engineering and show production teams to identify number of cameras and which camera control units are going to be used for a certain production
• Responsible for patching the studio BSP to CCU for all designated camera controls and assigning these cameras to a remote-control panel that are in the Technical Operation Center
• Responsible for calibrating the camera(s) by charting the cameras and maintaining the complete knowledge of the master control and remote-control panel function
• Adjust calibrations & colors of the set and lighting temperatures based on the desired look for the show
• Responsible for resolving emergency issues with all video control equipment
• Responsible for color correcting and adjusting all studio monitors
• Works under the direct supervision of the Manager, Technical Operations and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by manager as needed
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a broadcast network distribution, satellite operations, or network engineering role
• Demonstrated efficiency in understanding the complete function of the setup and operation of the camera master control unit and remote-control panel
• Exhibits advanced knowledge in understanding the way colors of the camera affect the look on the color offsets and knowing which colors provide a particular tint
• Experienced with master control panels, able to manipulate different setting and effects of the camera, understanding the different functions and their affect to the camera head
• Exhibits advanced knowledge working with remote control panels able to troubleshoot and resolve any system failures arriving at a positive result
• Experience operating GUI for satellite decoders/encoders on and operational level, understanding the fiber network and bonded cell backpacks, able to route these signals throughout the facility
• Fluency in English (both written & verbal)
Desired Characteristics:
• Fluency in English & Spanish is preferred
