Job Description
The Special Projects Coordinating Producer leads the development and production of a diverse slate of programming, including adapting podcasts, live events, and other existing content into television specials and series, while also overseeing original programming and documentaries as needed. Working closely with the Executive Producer, this role shepherds projects from concept through final delivery, collaborating with internal teams and external media partners to shape each project's creative vision, format, and execution.
The Coordinating Producer serves as a key creative and operational leader, managing relationships across departments and with outside partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest editorial and production standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building collaborative partnerships, and successfully manages multiple projects from concept to screen.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the creative and editorial execution of television specials, series, documentaries, and original programming, including adaptations of podcasts, live events, and other existing content.
• Partner with the Executive Producer, internal teams, and external media companies to develop each project's creative vision, format, scripting, staging, and overall execution.
• Collaborate with editors throughout post-production to ensure content aligns with the creative vision and editorial standards.
• Review and approve scripts, promos, topical banners, name banners, graphics, and other editorial elements prior to delivery.
• Monitor podcasts, live events, and other source material to identify compelling, timely, and newsworthy content for television adaptation.
• Develop new programming concepts, formats, and creative initiatives that strengthen and grow the MS NOW brand.
• Collaborate with Programming, Legal, Standards, Marketing, PR, and Creative Operations to ensure all content meets editorial, legal, and business objectives.
• Oversee production staff, schedules, and budgets, while anticipating challenges and ensuring projects are delivered on time and at the highest quality.
Qualifications
• 7 years of experience producing television, streaming, digital, or long-form content, with experience managing projects from development through final delivery.
• Proven leadership experience managing producers, cross-functional teams, and multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience collaborating with external media companies, talent, and other creative partners to develop and execute high-quality programming.
• Strong editorial judgment, storytelling instincts, and knowledge of all phases of production, from development through post-production and delivery.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship management skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships across internal and external teams.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field is required.
Additional Requirements:
• Must work in New York, NY.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support productions, live events, and special projects.
• This position has been designated as hybrid, with in-office work required Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week.
