MMG Model, Talent & Celebrity Management is seeking an exceptional Assistant to the Senior Director / Junior Talent Manager to join our New York team.
This is a unique opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in talent management, modeling, entertainment ad influencer/creator management. The person hired will work directly alongside MMG's Senior Director, gaining hands-on exposure to virtually every side of the business while also developing and managing a small roster of their own talent.
This is an entry-level/junior position, but it is not a typical administrative assistant role. We are looking for someone ambitious who wants to learn how to become a successful talent manager and eventually grow within the company. You will assist with everything from talent development to brand opportunities, PR, events, scheduling and client communications.
It is an incredible opportunity to learn the entertainment and talent management business from the inside, but it is also a fast-paced position.
You must genuinely enjoy that type of environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Assist the Senior Director
-Work directly with MMG's Senior Director on day-to-day talent management, client relations and agency operations.
-Correspond professionally with models, actors, celebrities, influencers, parents, brands, casting professionals and clients.
-Help manage a large and active talent roster, including castings, bookings, schedules, availability, portfolio materials, contracts and ongoing communication.
-Monitor and prioritize a high volume of emails, requests and time-sensitive opportunities.
-Help coordinate auditions, castings, shoots, events, appearances, fittings and other bookings.
-Assist with celebrity, influencer and brand partnership opportunities.
-Assist with special events, Fashion Week, industry events and occasional travel as needed.
Junior Talent Management
In addition to assisting senior leadership, this position will have the opportunity to build and manage a small roster of talent under the guidance of MMG's senior team.
Responsibilities will include:
-Scout and identify promising new models, actors, influencers and other talent.
-Participate in talent interviews, evaluations and onboarding.
-Develop strong relationships with your assigned talent and serve as a reliable point of contact.
-Help talent understand and navigate castings, auditions, portfolio development and the expectations of professional representation.
-Submit and pitch talent for appropriate opportunities.
-Help develop talent strategically based on their individual strengths and goals.
-Maintain accurate talent information, measurements, availability, portfolios and submission materials.
We are specifically looking for someone who is excited about becoming a talent manager and growing within our company, not someone who views the assistant portion of this role as a temporary stop before pursuing an unrelated career.
QUALIFICATIONS & WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone who is highly organized, resourceful, personable and an exceptional communicator. You will interact with everyone from models and influencers to celebrities, clients and parents, so professionalism and strong interpersonal skills are essential.
-Bachelor's degree preferred; 1-2 years of experience or internships in entertainment, talent management, fashion, casting, communications or a related field is a plus.
-PR, influencer marketing, celebrity relations or brand partnership experience is greatly preferred, but not required.
-Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
-Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
-Proactive, self-motivated and resourceful with strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
Strong knowledge of social media platforms, content creation/editing, current trends, influencer culture, entertainment, fashion and pop culture.
-Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office; Canva, Adobe and casting/talent platform experience is a plus.
-Must be based in or within commuting distance of New York City.
