Child Guardian/Set Chaperone

A theatrical production in Houston is seeking a dependable, energetic Child Guardian to look after two young performers (ages 13 and 14) during rehearsals and performances. This is a great summer opportunity for a college student or young professional looking to break into entertainment, childcare, or education.

Schedule

Start date: Tuesday, June 30
Six days a week, Tuesday-Sunday
11:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Responsibilities

Provide attentive, day-to-day care and supervision for two boys (ages 13 and 14)
Keep the performers on schedule and ensure they report to stage and holding areas on time
Make sure the boys take all necessary rest and meal breaks
Ensure the performers are fed and have access to water and snacks throughout the day
Coordinate with stage management and production staff regarding call times and cues
Maintain a safe, positive, and professional environment at all times

Ideal Candidate

Responsible, punctual, and highly organized
Comfortable and experienced working with adolescents
Calm under pressure and able to adapt in a fast-paced production setting
Strong communicator who works well with a team
Prior experience in childcare, education, camp counseling, or entertainment is a plus
Theatrical experience is a plus, but not required - we're happy to walk the right candidate through the ins and outs of theatrical work
