On Set Data Wrangler - ENCORE

The On Set Visual Effects Data Wrangler gathers as much information as possible about all VFX shots on set for post production.

The type of information and data collected would be reflective of the conditions under which each VFX shot was taken, to include the type of camera, lenses, filters, focus, color temperature, camera height, camera inclination, camera mount and distance between the camera and actor.

Another important aspect of the position is archiving all of this information (including photographic references & witness camera footage) for back up and distribution to when post begins.

Basic responsibilities:
• Daily presence on set.
• Be on set and ready to operate at call time with appropriate VFX gear for the day, including personal weather protection.
• Record camera data of both planned & unplanned VFX shots, including reference photos, witness camera, color chart, camera details, place markers and capture HDRI's
• Understanding and practical ability to draw lightning diagrams/ set-up diagrams, including measurements.
• Ability to record witness camera footage on set
• Set up, operation and maintenance of all on set VFX gear on a day to day basis
• Back up and distribution of on set VFX data, photographs and video to appropriate recipients, following in house protocols
• Maintain VFX department inventory of all VFX departmental equipment and gear, including cameras, data, hard drives and expendables.
• Place consumable orders for expendable supplies thru production office
• Uploading, logging, back up of all on set data on a daily basis

Qualifications:

• Drivers license with dependable personal vehicle
• Minimum of 2 years industry experience working on episodic television, commercials and / or feature films
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• ability to work under tight deadlines in a production environment
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Self motivated, extremely well organized, detail oriented without being overly compulsive
• Able to work in a team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working inter-departmentally with supervisors, cast and crew
• Excellence in data entry, organizing data & reference material, assistance and support of supervisors
• Experience with File Maker Pro, Mac operating system, Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, etc.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with DSLR cameras, laser range finder, inclinometer, HDRI photography
• Previous experience as a VFX Coordinator/ On Set Data Wrangler in an episodic television or commercial facility a big plus!
