This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
We are looking for a qualified intern who can assist in the creation of various pieces of sales communication and marketing for the Publishing department.
Our department works on various types of design projects from advertising design, web re-skins, logo design and the development and design of assets for all of the conventions that Marvel attends. Students applying for this internship should be familiar with current versions of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Portfolio samples are also suggested to demonstrate design ability.
Basic tasks also include production schedule & marketing timeline maintenance, copy-writing for solicitations and other sales/marketing pieces, and other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities:
DESIGN: Assist in the design of various projects of Marvel's Publishing marketing including print house ads, web marketing (website re-skins and banner units) and social media campaigns, etc. The intern will also have the opportunity to assist in the creation of promotional convention items and convention presentations.
COPYWRITING: Prepare solicit information for a variety of outlets, including the Marvel App for iOS devices. Assist on the copy for postcards, ads, and a variety of other sales/promo items.
EXCEL TRACKING: Assist in management of several marketing and production schedule Excel tracking sheets for Publishing Sales Dept.
CONVENTION: Assist with various aspects of convention planning including panel presentations, talent appearances, giveaway item inventory, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
Understanding of basic design fundamentals and familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Skills in print design, basic web design, print standards, color theory and typography.
Quick-learner with ability to take direction and work under pressure. Experience in Excel & Keynote a plus. Design internship experience preferred.
Knowledge of copywriting, creating and maintaining Excel documents, and data management/entry required.
Candidate must also have a working knowledge of the Marvel Universe, its characters, and the comics/creators they are featured in.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Resume must outline other internships, degrees earned, work experience, related clubs and organizations, current major course of study, expected graduation date and extracurricular activities.
• Cover letter must include a personal introduction, and days/times available during internship period.
• Preferred Junior or Senior-level standing
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Required Education
Prospective intern should be in Junior or Senior year pursuing a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or closely related field. Website portfolio or PDF required.

Internship Eligibility:
• Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.
Program Dates: The internship will start in September - December with flexibility as needed based on academic calendars.
Housing & Transportation: This internship is located in New York, NY. All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
