This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
Company: Magnetic Labs Media (formerly 141 Entertainment)
Role: Summer 2024 development internship
Location: Remote (for interns based in NYC or LA, we will endeavour to offer hybrid opportunities)
Duration: 2 days per week for 3 months (possible to extend to 6 months), start May 01 2024 (flex)

Magnetic Labs, formerly 141 Entertainment, creates award-winning films. We champion original voices through development, financing and production.
Our films include Ingrid Goes West (Sundance, NEON), Marjorie Prime (Sundance, FilmRise), Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon (Venice, Saban), Susie Searches (TIFF, Vertical) and The Feeling That the Time for Doing Something Has Passed (Cannes, Magnolia).
The role:
Our internship program provides an opportunity to gain industry experience and build skills for a career in Development.
What the internship offers:
We give meaningful exposure to all stages of the development process to each them how the film industry works in practice outside the classroom. Interns will be empowered to originate projects and property opportunities. They will get to contribute their creative notes and ideas for projects on the company's Development slate. We will let them experience the business affairs and financing side of getting a project into production. Our interns are treated as respected member of the team, who is invited to participate in both internal and external meetings (where possible).
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Discovering new development opportunities through script reading and coverage, screening of shorts and features, sourcing potential IP for adaptation (e.g. books, plays and podcasts)
Supporting the team as it develops projects on the company slate, will range from giving notes on creative materials, building content for pitch materials, generating ideas and lists for cast, crew and other key partners
Administrative support for special projects such as film festival schedules, local film events
Applicants:
Applicants must be in film school or have graduated within the last two years.
GPA of 3.5 and above (or graduated with honors)
