Angels Baseball - Full Time Bilingual (English/Spanish) Communications Representative

Overview:
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Communications, this position is responsible for assisting in the coordination and execution of all aspects of internal and external organizational communications.
Duties:
• Assist the Sr. Manager, Communications with the writing of select game notes, press releases and statistical reports
• Spanish interpreting and translating for various departments including, Communications, Social Media, Marketing and Corporate Sponsorship
• Work in press box on game days to help coordinate the club's in-game work flow which includes the daily statistical presentation and noteworthy information to provide to the media during the course of a game
• Responsible for ensuring all baseball related information is available on MLB properties including Angels.com and MLB Pressbox while also coordinating with Social Media Dept.
• Coordinating with local and visiting media to create press booth and press box seating charts for each series
• Travels with team on select road trip and is responsible for all PR efforts involving Club interview requests, game notes, press releases, statistical records, etc.
• Assist Manager, Digital Communications with social media game day responsibilities, including in-game content creation and video editing for select games
• Support the Director, Communications with the coordination of player pre and postgame interview requests, player appearances and meet and greets during home batting practice
• Assist Manager, Communications with pitching Angels related stories to local and national media outlets
• Create written content for Angels Magazine and various internal projects in both English and Spanish
• During the offseason, assist the department with the creation of the annual Angels Media Guide
• Assist department heads with the planning and implementation of press conferences and special events
Qualifications:
• Must be bilingual in English and Spanish including advanced ability to speak, read and write
• BA degree in Communications or Public Relations or a related field preferred
• Minimum of three to four years of experience in Media Relations or Communications for a sports organization
• Thorough understanding of baseball statistics
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
• Must possess an executive presence, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), ability to handle multiple projects at one time, detail oriented, work well under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines and react quickly.
Physical Demands
• Ability to frequently sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to frequently traverse to various locations around the stadium
• Ability to occasionally work in inclement weather (when in stadium)
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
