Summary of Position
Lionsgate is seeking a candidate to assist in the fast-paced Rights Management area of our Business and Legal Affairs Department. The primary focus of this position is to review, dissect and assimilate Motion Picture and/or Television Acquisition Agreements for key terms relating to Distribution Rights and entry into our Rights Management Database. This position requires an individual who possesses a unique blend of legal acumen and data analysis.
Responsibilities
• Review and Abstract Rights-In Output Deals
• Review and enter all non-TV product Acquisition Agreements
• Enter in all Feature Productions
• Liaise with the Company’s Motion Picture Group on holdback requirements
• Review documents for cursory determination of the status of derivatives
• Copyright look up and review
• Redact Agreements as needed
• Ad hoc special projects as needed
Qualifications and Skills
• Must be comfortable reading and dissecting legal contracts
• Database/Systems – must be able to quickly, proficiently and accurately enter data
• Must be proficient in Excel
• Fast and willing learner who is able to handle a volume of data and maintain attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
Nice to Haves
• Rights Management or Entertainment Distribution experience
• Law Degree or Paralegal Certificate/Experience
• Air Table Experience or other database applications
