Director of Ticket Operations
General Function
The Director of Ticket Operations is responsible for leading the organization's ticketing operation while actively contributing to ticket revenue growth. This position oversees box office management, ticketing system administration, inventory, reporting, financial reconciliation, season ticket servicing, and game-day execution while maintaining individual and departmental ticket sales goals.
The Director will work closely with sales, marketing, finance, and operations to maximize ticket revenue, improve the customer experience, and ensure an efficient and accurate ticketing operation.
Experience with Tickets.com or a comparable ticketing platform is required.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead all day-to-day ticket office operations for games, special events, and other ticketed events.
• Generate ticket revenue through the sale and renewal of season tickets, group tickets, hospitality, individual ticket products, and special events.
• Manage and grow existing ticket accounts while actively developing new customers and revenue opportunities.
• Develop and execute strategies to improve season ticket retention, renewals, upselling, ticket utilization, and overall account value.
• Serve as the primary administrator of the ticketing platform, including event builds, pricing, inventory management, reporting, account management, and troubleshooting.
• Partner with sales and marketing leadership to develop ticket offers, promotions, pricing strategies, and campaigns designed to drive attendance and revenue.
• Manage ticket inventory and identify opportunities to maximize available inventory across season tickets, groups, hospitality, and individual games.
• Oversee ticket-related financial processes, including payments, deposits, accounts receivable, settlements, and reconciliation.
• Produce and analyze ticket sales, attendance, revenue, and inventory reports to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
• Manage game-day box office operations, including staffing, customer service, will call, and ticket issue resolution.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise seasonal, part-time, and game-day ticket office staff.
• Maintain a high level of customer service and serve as the primary escalation point for ticketing and account-related issues.
Qualifications
• Previous professional experience in ticket operations, ticket sales, box office management, or ticketing administration required.
• Demonstrated ability to generate revenue and successfully sell, renew, and grow ticket accounts.
• Professional sports, collegiate athletics, entertainment, or live-event ticketing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience administering a professional ticketing platform; Tickets.com experience preferred.
• Previous staff supervision or ticket office management experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of ticket sales, inventory management, event builds, reporting, settlements, and financial reconciliation.
• Strong sales, customer service, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with ticketing and database systems.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, games, and special events as required.
