Rose Pre Parade Producer Seasonal
KTLA is looking for a skilled Producer to work on our Emmy Award-winning live coverage of Backstage at the Parade and Parad Countdown. Producer will work directly with Executive Producers to stack, write and produce KTLA's Pre Parade shows. They will oversee and delegate to Production Coordinator / APOC and Production Assistants during pre-production and live show. They oversee all aspects of pre-production / production and work with Executive Producers, producers, crew, talent and directors to execute a flawless live telecast.
Responsibilities
• Will be the main hub for all pre-production, coordination, and post-production tasks.
• Will stack, write and produce live and pre-produced elements for the two-hour block.
• Coordinate with Executive and Segment producers for live and pre-produced segments, including pitching ideas and helping to execute.
• Will communicate and all needed information to staff, crew and talent.
• Responsible for all creative elements including rundown, pre-produced packages, booking live interviews, GFX, logistical coordination and more.
• Will vet pitches, run meetings, and coordinate with Executive Producers and talent for call times, talking points and all other related needs.
• Research and write scripts for both pre-parade shows (to be approved by EP's)
• Responsible for completing scripts, rundowns, schedules and itineraries.
• Will work on the live event on location in Pasadena.
• Position is temporary late October or November to first week of January.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in film, communications, marketing, management, or related field
• 5-7 years' experience in live television, scripted or related field.
• Must be extremely proficient in PC - Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and OneDrive are musts.
• Knowledge of live show rundowns and scripts a must.
• Ability to multitask with excellent attention to detail and handle a lot on their plate all at once
• Previous experience as a producer or line producer.
• Familiarity with all aspects of live event production to facilitate effective communication
• Superb organizational and time management skills
• Ability to complete multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment
• Capable of meeting deadlines and working with daily time constraints
• Professional judgment for handling confidential information
• Excellent written and verbal communications.
