Part-Time Vocal Coach / Instructor - Recording Studio (Chelsea, NYC)

JAMBOX Entertainment Studios, a professional recording studio in Chelsea, Manhattan, is seeking an experienced freelance Vocal Coach/Instructor specializing in Pop, R&B, and contemporary vocal styles.

This position is ideal for a working vocal professional who enjoys developing artists and working with a team in a recording studio environment.

Role:

The vocal coach will provide private voice lessons for singers of all levels while also assisting during recording sessions by offering guidance on vocal technique, tone, phrasing, and stylistic development.

Because lessons take place inside a professional recording studio, the instructor should be comfortable recording students and reviewing performances in a studio setting.

• What We're Looking For:

• Strong background in modern vocal training and technique

• Experience coaching Pop, R&B, and contemporary vocal styles

• Ability to teach vocal strength, range development, breath control, and stylistic delivery

• Comfortable teaching beginner through professional-level singers

• Experience working with children and adults

• Ability to play scales and basic chords on piano and read basic sheet music / chord charts

• Understanding of studio recording workflow

Bonus Skills (Highly Valued):

• Experience working with recording artists

• Knowledge of Pro Tools, Logic, or other DAWs

• Background in multiple vocal styles such as Soul, Rock, Musical Theater, or Gospel

• Vocal production and stylistic coaching

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years professional vocal coaching or instruction

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Reliable, professional, and punctual

• Able to work independently and collaboratively

• Must be based in NYC or able to commute to Chelsea / Midtown (34th St - MSG area)
