Job Summary:
Position Summary
We are looking for a Creature TD who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent and passion for great filmmaking that define ILM.
Creature TDs are responsible for setting up and running flesh-surface, hair, cloth, rigid body simulations as well as being able to wrangle rigging and creature pipeline issues proficiently under the direction and guidance of their supervisors.
What You'll Do
• Simulate shots and sequences.
• Create simulation setups for cloth, hair, and muscle.
• Develop and maintain animation rigs.
• Debug and troubleshoot rigs , simulation setups and shots.
• Script utilities/tools/plug-ins in various software packages
• Document and share workflows and work as part of a team
What We're Looking For
• Experience in high-end VFX or animated features.
• Experience with cloth/hair/flesh simulation in houdini and/or rigging in Maya.
• Feature Film experience required.
• Proficiency in Linux and Python scripting.
• Experience in corrective sculpting and an understanding of anatomy.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills and a growth mindset.
• Experience with C++, mel, VEX,Unreal or other 3d software an advantage.
