Creative Executive / Story Editor

Maximum Films & Management is looking for a new Story Editor/ Creative Executive in New York with at least 1-2 years of assistant experience in the entertainment industry (not including internships) having worked for an agency, scout, producer, production or publishing company.  Candidate is enthusiastic, driven, personable, unflappable and able to multi-task, with some strong relationships within the film and publishing communities in NYC and LA. This candidate will be expected to track books, articles, plays and other material for film, attend plays and/or screenings, maintain the company’s extensive database, generate weekly reports, read manuscripts and screenplays, write coverage, and interact with both literary and management clients. As Maximum is essentially a two-person shop, the applicant should also be prepared to perform standard assistant duties including handling phones, calendar, meetings/travel, expense reports, and other general administrative duties (although she/he will be supported by full-time interns).  Maximum Films is a literary consulting, management and production company run by producer/manager Marcy Drogin, who serves as the New York literary scout for LA-based studios and production companies including DreamWorks Studios; Mandalay Pictures (based at Universal) and its new independent financing arm, Mandalay Vision; and Participant Media.  Salary and title commensurate with experience (ranging from Story Editor to Creative Executive), health insurance will be provided.
