GENERAL SUMMARY
The Houston Rockets are seeking a Sr. Broadcast Engineer ready to work in a fast-paced environment that will oversee the day-to-day technical operations and maintenance of the broadcast infrastructure of Toyota Center. This position will also act as a support engineer for all Rockets home games, Comets home games, and select third part events. Our department works closely with the video production team via tech support for the workstations and DLC network storage.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while handling numerous tasks simultaneously, prioritizing jobs on short notice
• Assist in the operation, training, maintenance, service and repair of broadcast, production, and post-production technology including, but not limited to:
• Video Playback (Click Effects)
• Cameras (broadcast, wireless, PTZ, production)
• Replay, CG, KVM, Imagine router, multiviewers, production switcher, A/V monitoring
• Broadcast cabling
• 15 non-linear workstations utilized by Red Studios
• Troubleshoot technical operations and needs of Toyota Center.
• Assist in managing control room network infrastructure as well as the network for our video production team that utilizes DLC networking storage.
• Work closely with our vendor in maintaining 1.4PB of DLC network storage (Quantum storage).
• Help in making sure Toyota Center meets and operates NBA standards with NBA Broadcast Technical Ops.
• Collaborate with IT and A/V departments to accomplish organizational A/V and broadcasting initiatives.
• Ensure all TV and radio broadcast needs are met for Rockets/Comets games along with Toyota Center shows and events, including leading and handling all transmission requests and technical needs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5 years supporting broadcast-quality infrastructure in a large-scale stadium/arena setting for live sporting events
• 5 years maintaining broadcast television or production equipment
• 5 years maintaining non-linear editing systems
• 2 years working in SMPTE 2110 environment
• 2 years of experience with network infrastructures and shared storage systems
• Working knowledge of broadcast network infrastructure
• Strong decision-making skills
• Willing to work nights and weekends

• Category Cable and Fiber infrastructure
• Production workflows
• Broadcast cameras
• Production switcher (Ross Acuity)
• Enterprise sized Video/Audio router (Imagine Magellan)
• Enterprise sized intercom system (Riedel)
• Enterprise sized KVM (G&D)
• AES-67 and DANTE knowledge a plus
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, communicate with others.
• The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
• The employee must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs.
• The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed, considering the strong focus on external communications and relationships.
