Sound Engineer
Location: Boston, MA
Role Summary:
The Sound Engineer will handle audio operations, stage equipment setup, and technical support for events at Citizens House of Blues Boston. This role includes overseeing audio systems, managing visiting techs, and ensuring high-quality sound for shows.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform load-in and load-out of band and rental equipment.
• Set up and break down band and event equipment.
• Manage cabling, patching, and collaborate with crew members.
• Operate audio control boards and maintain safe audio levels.
• Provide professional sound mixes for shows.
• Oversee visiting audio techs during performances.
• Protect, maintain, and repair audio equipment.
• Support production needs across the venue and assist the Production Manager with artist-related technical advances.
• Ensure proper care of venue and rental equipment.
• Distribute or create audio plans and operate venue-wide audio systems.
• Support audio needs for special events.
• Maintain relationships with local and national audio vendors.
Requirements:
• 3+ years of tour and stage production experience.
• Experience with stage lighting, professional audio systems, and basic video systems.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
• Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
