Hearst Media Production Group is seeking an experienced, full-time Social Media Video Producer to plan, shoot, and publish digital content for a television series focused on increasing sports participation and visibility for young girls. Working closely with Digital and Production, this role requires a digital-first storyteller who understands Gen Z and Gen Alpha culture and can operate independently in the field. The engagement is expected to run from March through October 2026, with national travel required throughout spring and early summer 2026. The ideal candidate is a strong producer, videographer, and editor capable of sourcing and crafting compelling content with minimal oversight.
This position reports to the Digital Director and, when not traveling, is based in our Glendale, CA office four (4) days per week.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Conceptualize, shoot, and edit video content for social platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, utilizing in-app tools to integrate native features.
• Manage on-site video shoots, handling all aspects - including equipment setup, camera operation, audio, and logistics.
• Support brand programming initiatives by producing editorial and evergreen content, with the ability to quickly edit high-quality promotional materials.
• Perform post-production editing using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, etc.), ensuring consistent quality across social platforms.
• Collaborate with digital and post-production teams as a liaison, overseeing the ingestion, management, and organization of all photo and video assets for owned and operated channels.
• Source additional material from external platforms (e.g., Pond5, Storyblocks, Getty) to create original, engaging content.
• Evaluate the content library to identify gaps and determine content to enhance the overall library.
• Manage day-to-day social media operations across platforms, including copywriting, obtaining content approvals, and scheduling posts for timely publishing.
• Stay informed on social media trends to guide and enhance content creation strategies.
• Oversee community management, monitoring comments and engaging with the audience to foster interaction and brand loyalty.
• Serve as the primary point of contact during shoots, ensuring seamless coordination and communication with guests and clients.
• Collaborate closely with digital and production teams to brainstorm, coordinate, and execute content ideas that align with strategic brand objectives and campaign goals.
• Ensure deadlines are met while managing travel logistics and maintaining high-quality standards throughout all stages of production.
• Coordinate guest outreach and asset delivery for cross-promotional opportunities, ensuring alignment between featured organizations and key stakeholders.
Experience
• Demonstrated 3-5 years of hands-on experience in video production, content creation, and social media management, with a strong track record of developing and executing engaging content across multiple platforms.
• Proficiency in platform-specific content optimization for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
• Proven experience in managing multiple projects and working collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, ensuring quality standards and timely delivery while coordinating logistics and traveling as needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong emphasis on client interaction and content delivery.
Qualifications
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom) for video and photo editing.
• Demonstrated knowledge of social media asset production, publishing, and marketing across platforms including TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
• Strong technical knowledge of media encoding, codecs, formats, and color management; experience with Da Vinci Resolve and editing workflows is highly preferred.
• Demonstrate an authentic passion for TV and trending internet content, staying up to date with current standards and styles.
• Organized with strong projects, and time management skills.
• Familiarity with social media management platforms (Sprout, Hootsuite, etc.) a plus.
• Experience in the media/entertainment industry is preferred
Education
• Related experience and/or training will be considered as well as a combination of education and experience.
Salary/Benefits
$1,480 - $1,566 /week USD
The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors.
