Digital Advertising Operations Specialist
Hearst Television
Charlotte, NCThis is a Full Time Job
Hearst Television is seeking a Digital Traffic Specialist to own the execution and quality control of digital advertising orders across the station portfolio. This role is dedicated entirely to digital trafficking to include queue ownership, order validation, and escalation. This role reports to the Sr Manager, Digital Campaign Operations.
This role requires in-office presence at Hearst Television's Charlotte hub.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Order Trafficking & Queue Ownership
• Own the digital trafficking queue end to end: receive, validate, and enter digital orders and copy instructions using DMI, DQC, and DAT.
• Implement and QA digital creative, tags, and targeting across ad-serving platforms; including Google Ad Manager to ensure orders launch accurately and on schedule.
• Manage day-to-day pacing and delivery of digital orders while flagging discrepancies and reporting issues.
Quality Control & Escalation
• Apply standardized intake and validation checks to catch order-input errors and copy mistakes before they're keyed into station systems.
• Serve as the escalation point for digital order issues, coordinating directly with Station DCS and Digital Sales Managers (DSMs) to resolve discrepancies.
• Document recurring issues and feed them back into process, training, and automation improvements.
DCS & Station Partnership
• Partner with Station and Central DCS teams on order handoffs, coverage, and continuity for digital work.
• Provide clear, responsive communication to stations and sales teams on order status, changes, and turnaround.
Process & Automation
• Work within Hearst's digital order intake and copy-instruction automation tools, helping validate output and improve automated workflows (including DAT) against manual fallback processes.
• Support the shift toward exception-based work as automation absorbs routine trafficking tasks.
Reporting
• Track and report on turnaround time, first-pass quality, and Pushback rate for the digital queue.
• Surface trends and recommend process changes to the Manager, Digital Traffic Operations.
Qualifications
• 1–3 years of experience in broadcast traffic, digital traffic, order entry, or digital campaign operations.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort managing a high-volume, deadline-driven queue.
• Experience with digital order-entry/trafficking systems strongly preferred; willingness to learn required for candidates without direct exposure.
• Familiarity with digital ad-serving platforms (e.g., Google Ad Manager) a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with stations, sales, and Digital Operations.
• Comfortable working with Excel/Google Sheets and ticket- or queue-management tools.
• Collaborative team player comfortable sharing workloads and backing up teammates.
