General Assignment Reporter

This is a Full Time Job

Primary Responsibility:
• Cover breaking and general interest news in San Antonio and Bexar County

• Conduct reporting and research

Competencies/Critical Skills:
• Accuracy, critical thinking, creativity, and an ability to write clearly and quickly on a variety of topics

• Must be fluent in the fundamentals of digital journalism, including writing headlines optimized for search and social media and embedding links and images

Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements and Education
• Bachelor's degree required

• Minimum of two years' experience as a staff reporter for a daily news organization

• Ability to write clearly and quickly in response to breaking news

• Flexibility to handle assignments on a variety of topics

• Conversational Spanish speaking is preferred
