Harper's BAZAAR is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Assistant Fashion Editor to support the Fashion team across print, digital, and social platforms. This role is ideal for someone with a strong point of view on fashion, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for learning the inner workings of a top-tier fashion editorial operation.
Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
• Support Fashion Editors and Stylists with day-to-day editorial needs for print, digital, and social shoots
• Assist in preparing for shoots by pulling, organizing, tracking, and returning samples from designers, PR agencies, and showrooms
• Maintain accurate records of sample loans, credits, and returns using internal systems and spreadsheets
• Provide on-set support during studio and location shoots, including steaming, dressing, and styling assistance
• Organize and maintain the fashion closet and accessories archive, ensuring efficiency and accessibility
• Conduct trend research and assist with story development, sourcing, fact-checking, and compiling credits and product details
Qualifications (What We're Looking For)
• Strong interest in luxury fashion and a clear point of view on current and emerging trends
• Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven editorial environment
• Professional communication skills and comfort working with high-profile talent, designers, and brands
• Proficiency in Google Workspace and basic spreadsheet tools
• Experience in fashion media, styling, PR, or internships is a plus
• Willingness to work in a hybrid schedule with four days per week in the New York City office
This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
