Contract Dates: Nov 9, 2026 to Dec 24, 2026
Compensation: $20-22/hr Overtime after 40 hrs
The WARDROBE/WIG CREW will work as run crew on the assigned show and assist other departments when needed.
The ideal individual will have a strong drive to provide high-quality work, the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, organizational skills, and ability to work as a part of the team. Gulfshore Playhouse values hard work, kindness, generosity, passion, and grace-under-pressure. Employee will be expected to work extended hours on occasion when necessary to meet goals. Some weekend and evening hours are required including attendance at performances, special events, and/or meetings that may happen outside normal hours.
Skills:
• Proficiency in machine sewing and hand finishing garments
• Ability to repair costumes before and during the run of the show
• Ability to assist actors in getting dressed and performing quick changes on assigned shows
• Knowledge of wigs and hair styling
• Ability to assist in donning and doffing wigs
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
• Ability to manage time and productivity effectively
• Ability to multitask and achieve tight deadlines
Duties:
• Assists with getting actors into costumes/ wigs
• Check in and check out of costumes
• Loading in costumes and setting up dressing rooms
• Assists with running show backstage
• Assists with quick changes
• Care and cleaning/laundry of costumes, including minor repairs
• Assists with wig maintenance
• Maintains a clean and orderly environment
• Assists with scene changes during performances if needed
• Adhere to all safety protocols at all times
• Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• One to two years experience in the field (including at the college level)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment
• Ability to work in tight, enclosed spaces including ones in the air
• Ability to work in dark spaces
• Ability to stand for long periods of time depending on assignment
• Ability to safely operate shop equipment and tools
