Assistant Editor

This is a Full Time Job

We are a small, midtown-based production company specializing in movie trailers for feature films and television. We seek a new Assistant Editor to join our team who will assist our editors in creating trailers and TV spots for the motion picture and TV industry. The ideal candidate would have 1-2 years of experience at either an internship or an assistant editor position at a similar post production company.

Job Responsibilities:
• Create, manage, and organize Avid projects for editorial team
• Download client media from secure servers and ingest into Avid Media Composer
• Upload and post cuts to Wiredrive
• Create cue sheets, shots lists, and other documents based on sequences in a timely matter
• Prepare finish elements to client specifications, including EDLs, AAFs, Avid bins, and more
• Cut scenes from dailies to create rough assemblies of films in the early stages of production

Job Requirements:
• At least 1 year experience working in a professional post production environment
• Must be willing to work late nights on a semi-regular basis
• Experience with post-production software and workflow (Avid Media Composer preferred)
• Experience with data transfer tools such as Aspera, Signiant, Media Shuttle, and other FTP services is a plus
