Sales Assistant (Regular Full-Time)

Join the team at Detroit's top-rated news station! We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented team player to join our Sales Team and contribute to our continued success.

As a Sales Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the Sales Team and our efforts to drive revenue across all platforms. Your primary focus will be day-to-day support of Local Account Executives and Sales Managers while collaborating with digital sales, traffic, research, and other teams.

What You'll Do
• Support Account Executives with advertising order entry, revisions, and reporting in the WideOrbit Traffic system.
• Communicate with sales representatives and buyers regarding preempts, make-good offers, program changes, late runs, and other account activity.
• Provide weekly advertiser reports, including spot times and post reports.
• Collaborate with sales representatives and buyers to address invoicing, discrepancies, and collection issues.
• Support Sales Management with political advertising, including maintaining contracts, ensuring FCC documentation is complete, and verifying cash-in-advance payments.
• Collaborate with the Traffic department on advertising copy management.
• Support other station departments and initiatives as needed.
• Perform additional projects and duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a positive, professional approach.
• Comfortable working with numbers and data with a strong focus on accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to learn industry software, including WideOrbit, Media Sales, AOS, and other media platforms.
• Strong work ethic and collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Associate or bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.

Additional Details

This is a fast-paced media environment. The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across the Sales organization and station.
