YouTube Editor & Marketing Manager
Foundry Financial
Pasadena, CAThis is a Full Time Job
YouTube Video Editor & Social Media Marketing Manager
Location: Remote or Pasadena Office
About the Role
We're looking for a creative, detail-oriented YouTube Video Editor and Social Media Marketing Manager to help us turn long-form financial education content into a consistent, high-quality content engine across YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, and email/social platforms.
This role is ideal for someone who understands YouTube, can edit clean and engaging videos, and knows how to repurpose content into short-form clips, carousels, captions, and posts that feel native to each platform.
You should also be comfortable using AI tools, especially Claude, to help turn scripts, transcripts, and long-form videos into compelling social content, hooks, titles, descriptions, and posting ideas.
What You'll Do
YouTube Editing
Edit long-form YouTube videos for a financial education channel, including:
* Cutting down raw footage into polished videos
* Improving pacing, clarity, and flow
* Adding simple graphics, text overlays, B-roll, charts, or screenshots when helpful
* Cleaning up audio and visual issues
* Creating engaging intros, transitions, and endings
* Exporting videos in the correct formats for YouTube
* Helping improve retention without making the videos feel overly ''YouTube-y'' or gimmicky
Short-Form Content
Turn long-form videos into short-form clips for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn.
This includes:
* Identifying the best moments from longer videos
* Creating strong hooks
* Adding captions/subtitles
* Formatting clips for vertical video
* Making sure the clip works as a standalone piece of content
Social Media Management
Help keep our social channels active and consistent by creating and scheduling content.
Responsibilities may include:
* Writing LinkedIn posts based on videos, scripts, or transcripts
* Creating short captions for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
* Repurposing long-form content into multiple posts
* Helping organize a content calendar
* Scheduling posts across platforms
* Tracking what content performs well and suggesting improvements
What We're Looking For
The ideal person has:
* Experience editing YouTube videos
* Experience creating short-form social clips
* Strong understanding of social media platforms, especially YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
* Experience using Claude or similar AI tools for content creation
* Good writing instincts, especially for hooks and social captions
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to make financial topics clear, engaging, and accessible
* A clean, modern editing style
* Good judgment - not everything needs flashy cuts, memes, or over-editing
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Financial services experience is a plus, but not required. Curiosity and the ability to understand nuanced topics matters more.
Nice to Have
* Experience editing educational YouTube content
* Experience with personal finance, retirement planning, investing, or tax-related content
* Familiarity with tools like Descript, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, CapCut, Frame.io, Canva, or similar platforms
* Experience managing a content calendar
* Experience reviewing analytics and making recommendations based on performance
What Success Looks Like
You'll be successful in this role if:
* Our YouTube videos are edited consistently and professionally
* Long-form videos are regularly repurposed into short-form content
* Our social channels stay active without the content feeling generic
* Posts sound thoughtful, clear, and human - not like obvious AI output
* You can take one video and turn it into multiple strong pieces of content
* You bring ideas for how to improve the content process over time
