HEAD OF COMMUNITY
REPORTS TO: MARKETING DIRECTOR
LOCATION: LONDON, UK
MISSION
Your mission is to turn the energy of this global audience into a community people are proud to be part of. A place where someone in London, Lagos, or Los Angeles doesn't just engage with an episode and move on, but meets others like them, joins conversations, attends events, and feels they belong to something bigger. You'll design the spaces, events, and programmes that make that possible - from local meet-ups to global events, run clubs to retreats.
OUTCOMES
• Turn the DOAC audience into an active community: Set the plan and systems for how people come together around DOAC, with a model that scales across FlightStory
• Create experiences: From local meet-ups and global events to run clubs, retreats, and member-led clubs that foster belonging and connection
• Build digital spaces that feel human: Where members share stories, lessons, and wins
• Empower advocates: Give members the tools and opportunities to shape the community themselves, turning it from something we run into something they own
• Close the feedback loop: Gather stories, feedback, and insights from the community and feed them directly back into DOAC's content, products, and partnerships
• Measure impact: Show the growth of the community through both numbers and stories that prove real connection and change
• Experiment and evolve: Test formats, platforms, and ideas (from digital spaces to in-person activations), scaling what works
COMPETENCIES
• Building from zero: You've built communities or networks from scratch and know what it takes to get them off the ground
• Running big events: You're confident in planning and delivering complex, high-impact experiences that bring people together at scale
• Reading culture: You understand what ambitious, curious people want and how to design spaces they want to return to
• Making it practical: You know how to turn ideas into systems, habits, and rituals that last
• Clear storytelling: You can explain a vision simply and get people excited to join in
• Using insight: You're confident with both data and feedback and know how to use them to improve what you build
• Ownership: You take responsibility, find solutions, and keep moving, even when things are moving very fast
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Within 6-12 months, The Diary of a CEO has shifted from having an audience to a community people are proud to be part of. They're not just listening or watching on their own anymore - they're meeting in cities across the world, joining lively online discussions, showing up at events, and creating their own rituals and traditions. From a run club in London to a retreat in South Africa, our DOAC community feel connected to each other and to something bigger that us. That sense of belonging doesn't just give them a place to share, be inspired, and grow together - it sparks connections and opportunities that reach far beyond the show itself. The blueprint you've created doesn't stop at DOAC - it becomes the model for how FlightStory turns audiences into communities across all our shows, transforming fandom into participation on a global scale.
YOU'LL THRIVE HERE IF…
• You think like a founder - you take ownership, solve problems, and build from scratch
• You're a doer as much as a thinker - you move fast, test ideas, and make things real
• You want to build a global community that drives real impact in people's lives
• You're energised by bringing ambitious people together to connect and grow
• You care about the details of the experience as much as the big picture
• You thrive in a high-growth, high-energy environment where the goal is impact and pace is fast
