As the Account Director covering business dedicated to global sourcing, supply chain and sustainability, you will be responsible for driving revenue with brands, retailers, manufacturers and solution providers. You will lead conversations with business executives and key marketing decisions makers across textile, manufacturing, global supply chain, and logistic industries and foster new business opportunities in a rapidly evolving landscape. The ideal candidate will possess strong business-to-business acumen and knowledge of sales tools that drive measurable results.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
• Independently develop a robust pipeline of advertising prospects across brand and agencies alike, and produce high – quality leads that convert into sales opportunities
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, prospects, and partners in the fashion, retail, manufacturing and sourcing industries.
• Build prospects and foster client relationships through in-person meetings, phone, email, and social media outreach, and via participation in professional networking events and programs
• Analyze market demands and customer needs to help shape Sourcing Journal’s sales and marketing strategies
• Work strategically with sales planning and integrated marketing teams to craft proposals and execute campaigns that meet and exceed client KPIs and objectives, growing your pipeline of new business in the process
• Effectively deliver and manage client expectations to ensure successful campaign execution and help set the stage for future growth via program renewal and more
• Manage a robust Salesforce pipeline; accurately forecast new business and revenue path from pitch to close
• Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and market shifts
• Evangelize the SJ brand by bringing its mission, industry perspective and thought-leadership voice to life in conversations with partners and prospects
• Work strategically with the SJ editorial team to align on opportunities and priorities
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• 3 years of B2B media sales, lead generation, event sponsorship sales, or business development experience
• Comfortable with cold calling, outbound email correspondence in volume, and prospecting tools
• Record of sales performance, meeting/exceeding goals in multiplatform selling environments
• Ability to present and communicate ideas and concepts effectively
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal, both internal and external facing
• Ability to develop, maintain, and grow relationships with customers, external partners, and internal teams to deliver on business objectives
• Experience in media pricing, planning, packaging, and related performance metrics
• General sales knowledge of platforms in SJ portfolio: digital, social media, video, audio, print, branded content, events (live and virtual)
