We're looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to join our team in-office on a one-month contract (with possibility of extension) to oversee day-to-day operations on commercial video productions. This role requires strong payroll and union administration expertise alongside hands-on production coordination. You'll be the point person ensuring shoots run smoothly, the crew is paid and classified correctly, and productions stay on budget from pre-production through wrap.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate production crew and daily operations for commercial video shoots
Manage and process crew payroll, ensuring accurate timecards, rates, and classifications
Administer union payroll and compliance (e.g., IATSE, DGA, SAG-AFTRA as applicable), including fringes, box rentals, and residual/overtime rules
Build, track, and reconcile production budgets using Hot Budget
Serve as liaison between producers, directors, clients, crew, and payroll/accounting
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, location/permit requirements, and union regulations
Troubleshoot on-set and office-based production issues in real time
Manage crew scheduling, deal memos, timesheets, and vendor coordination
Track budget actuals vs. estimates and flag cost overruns to production management
Maintain clear communication across departments and with payroll services
Ensure wrap procedures are completed (equipment returns, final cost reports, closeout paperwork)
Requirements
2+ years of experience in video/commercial production, with supervisory or lead experience preferred
Deep working knowledge of entertainment payroll and union rules (IATSE, DGA, SAG-AFTRA, or similar)
Hands-on experience with Hot Budget (required)
Strong understanding of production workflows, deal memos, and crew deal structures
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to multitask and stay calm under tight deadlines
Strong communication and leadership skills
Comfortable working in-office full-time
Familiarity with production payroll services (e.g., Wrapook)
