Job Summary:
Disney Advertising Sales is seeking an experienced professional to lead the business strategy and activation for advertiser solutions tied to ABC Scripted Series programming. This Director will be responsible for overseeing a team of approximately 4 that develops and activates advertiser driven cross-platform brand solutions within the ABC Scripted Series vertical. This Director should bring an innovative and entrepreneurial lens to the business to ensure solutions are meeting marketplace demands and revenue potential is maximized. The role is based in Santa Monica, CA and reports into the Executive Director, Entertainment Brand Solutions.
Responsibilitiesand Duties of the Role:
• Lead the strategy, development, and execution of cross-platform (linear, addressable, social) solutions against ABC Scripted Series branded programming.
• Direct the development of new or innovative solutions around the specific branded content area (cross platform, cross portfolio).
• Identify strategic alignment with internal LOBS (Marketing, PR, etc.) to amplify client partnerships to optimize revenue.
• Develop and execute departmental strategy and business plans to achieve key business objectives.
Serve as expert over a specialty content area:
• Drives strategy and is responsible for the revenue performance of the ABC Scripted Series content area, inclusive of tracking and reporting revenue/data associated with partnerships.
• Ambassador to Sales/Clients for the specific branded content area and to creative community (internal & external) representing Sales goals/needs.
• Strategic proactive collaboration across the Disney portfolio to create greater reach for clients and shows, actively incorporating new business products/strategies/tactics into pitch materials.
• Identify and lead partnership strategy for all ABC Scripted Series from pitch material development to client negotiation to partnership execution, in collaboration with internal stakeholders, and team management.
• Identify, incorporate, and execute on new addressable/social innovations that drive revenue for ABC Scripted Series.
• Provides/Develops packaging and pricing strategy for ABC Scripted Series.
• Accountable for idea generation – includes working with key stakeholders (internal and external) to identify, develop, and review ideas.
• Accountable for oversight of all client-facing pitch materials and sponsorship opportunities, actively managing team members and materials to deliver consistency across the department.
• Oversee team to build consensus among key stakeholders to obtain approval on the ideas (Management, Legal, BS&P, PR, Business Affairs, Studios, Producers, Marketing, etc.).
• Attend client meetings to pitch ideas as required.
• Collaborate with Executive Director on special projects across and for the benefit of the broader team such as revenue forecasting, tracking and reporting, process planning, and operational implementation against a variety of functions (e.g., social, billing, work process, etc.).
Provide leadership and direction to a team
• Direct team members through activation/post-sale process for deals that sell-through.
• Train and guide team members to oversee on-set shoots.
• Accountable for success over all aspects of projects from pre-sale to post-sale/execution.
• Responsible for growth and development of team members including performance evaluation and reviews, training, development, career recommendations etc.
• Help develop and execute department/division strategy and objectives to team and specialty area(s).
• Oversee team organizational functions: budget management, status reports, case studies, research, competitive analysis, etc.
• Implement an enterprise-wide perspective into specific team functions and objectives.
• Actively educate and drive team culture.
Preferred Qualifications
• 10-12 years of marketing, sponsorship, promotion, branded entertainment and/or media at a network, cable, promotional/media agency or entertainment studio
• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills; Presentation and pitching experience required
• Demonstrated experience managing teams and fostering team growth
• Ability to drive collaboration in a highly matrixed environment
• Showcase experience driving social and addressable revenue and leading implementation
• Skilled in leading on-set shoots
• Excellent client management skills
• Expertise in project management/execution with multi-tasking abilities and attention to detail
• Experience collaborating with senior level executives, clients, and show producers
• Demonstrated experience driving revenue across various platforms, inclusive of social and streaming
• Outstanding interpersonal skills (especially in high impact environments)
• Independent decision maker and proven work solving complex problems
• Must have effective relationship skills to build and foster producing partner alliances
• Production experience a plus
• Fully proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Workspace, SmartSheet, Airtable
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $148,700.00 to $199,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
