On-Set VFX Supervisor

Encore, a Deluxe Entertainment Services Group company, has a position in its visual effects department in Vancouver, Canada. Encore is an Emmy award winning VFX house, providing outstanding visual effects work for television and motion pictures. Encore provides post-production services to top television series and is owned by Deluxe Entertainment Services Group Inc. We currently have an opening for a contract-based PT On-set VFX Supervisor with a background in episodic VFX experience. The position will be located in Vancouver, Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The On-Set Visual Effects Supervisor is responsible for the design and execution of on-set visual effects work for an episodic series format. This can include both on set supervision for the acquisition of plates, elements, as well as, supervision of filming – relative to VFX- through delivery of plates to VFX.

In conjunction with the VFX Producer, the On-Set VFX Supervisor is responsible for the management and successful completion of the VFX during production. The VFX Supervisor will be required to troubleshoot issues in a fast-paced schedule, while being able to remain calm and organized.

VFX Supervisor will act as a liaison between Encore's Creative Director, the overall project supervisor, producers, or director as required, scheduling of effects production, and potentially estimating/bidding new work.??

DUTIES:
• VFX supervision as required (On set)
• Maintain creative relations with clients, while establishing strong client confidence
• Flag overages and conceptual changes that would affect the VFX Bid
• Communicate creative, technical input for shot design & completion with VFX staff while maintaining Director's vision and working within budget
• Communicate Director's feedback
• Delegate appropriate tasks to applicable crew & artists
• Regularly update senior management to show status weekly

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 5 years on-set experience as VFX supervisor, which includes episodic TV (preferably superhero or action genres)
• Proven track record in the industry
• Strong technical knowledge and organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to take exact direction from the Director and translate to post VFX house
