DESCRIPTION
Responsible for strategizing and executing publicity campaigns for our clients across all media formats. Must have established relationships with relevant legacy and new media outlets as well as influential figures in these spaces. The ideal candidate will also possess discerning taste as well as a passion for music, fashion, and culture with the ability to intuitively identify, develop, and communicate compelling narratives within these spaces.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
4+ years Public Relations experience at a Record label or music focused Independent Agency
Proven leadership and management experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional negotiation & interpersonal skills
Strategic thinking and planning skills
Strong media relations and networking skills
A storyteller mindset; you can ingest creative work quickly, turning complex topics into compelling, media worthy narratives
Ability to write copy for press releases, pitches, artist bios and more within tight deadlines
Ability to multitask, manage multiple projects, and work under pressure in fast-paced, high stakes environments while remaining organized, detail oriented, and accountable
Extensive experience in A&R, artist development, and a strong understanding of the music business, a creative eye for talent, and an understanding of music trends
Flexibility for extensive travel and a willingness to work long and sometimes irregular hours
Team collaboration on deadline driven tasks with transparency and a sense of urgency
Deep understanding of new and legacy media, the contemporary music and entertainment landscape, and Dark Matter Media’s client roster.
Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, & Google Calendar) a must — Notion and Mailchimp a plus

Ability to maintain a professional demeanor when interfacing with talent and executives.
Possess flawless written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proactive problem solving, anticipating issues before they arrive
Able to work in open concept office space and remain focused on detail oriented activities.
