Video & Social Media Producer, Criminal
Criminal Productions is looking for a temporary full-time Podcast Video & Social Media Producer to join our team.
As a Podcast Video & Social Producer you will be responsible for creating video and social content for our digital platforms. This will range from producing long-form video interviews to short-form social media video clips. You will also create additional social content including image assets, stories/reels, and caption copy. You will work closely with the podcast producers and the podcast marketing team to reflect Criminal Productions’ voice, spirit, and brand.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Produce longform video content for Criminal’s YouTube channel from start to finish (coordinating recording, making initial editorial cuts and decisions, working with a video editor on drafts, and publishing a final version)
• Produce shortform video content for Criminal’s YouTube shorts channel, as well as social media platforms - translating podcast moments into compelling visual stories
• Upload archival Criminal podcast episodes to YouTube
• Create compelling thumbnails, titles and copy for YouTube videos (including shorts)
• Coordinate and collaborate with show producers to create a social media plan around promoting new episodes across all of our podcasts, as well as upcoming events, important initiatives, and more
• Develop and produce engaging social content for each Criminal Productions show– including image assets, GIFs, stories/reels, motion graphics, video cut-downs of episodes, and platform-specific variants
• Optimize content for platform performance (length, format, captioning, hashtags, thumbnails, CTAs) and stay current with algorithm changes and emerging formats
• Track performance metrics (views, reach, engagement, follower growth, click-throughs to episode/subscribe) and feed insights back into creative strategy
• Maintain an archive of assets and templates, and iterate efficiency in production workflows
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
• Demonstrated ability to produce both longform and shortform video content, especially for talk-based or interview-driven formats
• Excellent storytelling instincts; knowing which moments to spotlight that hook viewers, evoke emotion or insight, and prompt engagement or action
• Strong understanding of social platforms and their nuances: Instagram (feed, stories, reels), TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook - including what drives performance, how users engage, and what makes shows grow
• A collaborative, consultative working style and the ability to plug into existing teams to help elevate their visual presence.
• Solid skills in editing short-form video tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects) and comfort with static image design (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva) and motion graphic templates
• Ability to manage multiple projects/shows simultaneously, prioritize under tight deadlines, and collaborate closely with teammates
• Attentiveness to performance metrics and a willingness to adjust accordingly
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working in podcast media or editorial-driven media brands
• Familiarity with audio editing or podcast production workflows a plus
