Summer Paid Intern - Shipping and Receiving Clerk

This is a Part Time Paid Internship

SHIPPING/RECEIVING INTERN - TUFF CITY RECORDS · NEW YORK, NY

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and physically capable Shipping & Receiving Intern to support inventory and fulfillment operations. No prior shipping or warehouse experience required - full on-the-job training provided. What we need is someone who shows up, pays attention, takes direction, and takes pride in doing things right.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Receive incoming shipments of vinyl records, merchandise, and office supplies - inspect for damage, verify against packing slips, log into inventory
• Prepare and pack outbound orders: physical releases, licensing deliveries, promotional packages
• Maintain the stockroom: organize shelves, label inventory, store items safely and accessibly
• Process returns and exchanges; coordinate with vendors on discrepancies
• Lift, carry, and reposition boxes up to 50 lbs as part of daily tasks
• Assist with periodic physical inventory and cycle counts
• Coordinate with couriers and freight carriers for pickups and deliveries
QUALIFICATIONS
• Currently enrolled in a college or university program (any major welcome)
• Ability to lift and carry boxes up to 50 lbs without assistance
• Comfortable standing, bending, and moving for extended periods
• Reliable, punctual, consistent weekly schedule
• Basic computer proficiency (Google Workspace, email)
• Strong attention to detail - accuracy in counting and logging
• ''No task is too small'' attitude

DESIRABLE
Prior shipping/receiving, retail stocking, moving, or warehouse experience; familiarity with inventory software or spreadsheets; interest in the music industry. Academic credit available via externship arrangement.

COMPENSATION: (NYC minimum wage) · Spring/Fall variable days up to 20 hours per week during business hours. Summer/Winter Break variable up to 35 hours per week during business hours.
