About the Role
We're looking for a sharp, highly organized, and versatile personal assistant to support a busy entertainment attorney and artist manager working in music and other entertainment ventures. This role covers both professional and personal tasks, so no two days look the same. One day you might be helping draft a contract; the next, you're booking a dinner reservation. If you like variety, move quickly, stay organized, and take pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes and want to learn more about the entertainment industry, this is for you.
Schedule
Approximately 3 days per week, 15-20 hours total.
What You'll Do
Support artist projects: Help coordinate the day-to-day of active artist clients, including scheduling sessions, tracking release timelines, and keeping projects moving
Be in the room: Assist at meetings, shows, and industry events as needed, getting a firsthand look at both the business and creative sides of music
Manage the inbox and calendar: Keep the principal's schedule organized, prioritize incoming messages, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks
Draft correspondence and documents: Prepare emails, letters, and professional documents, including assisting with contracts
Handle travel and reservations: Book flights, hotels, and restaurant reservations for business and personal plans
Run personal errands: Take care of tasks like dry cleaning, grocery pickup, and other day-to-day needs
Work across the team: Coordinate with our New York office and with the principal directly in Miami, turning to-do lists into completed tasks
What You'll Learn
This role offers a behind-the-scenes look at how the music and entertainment businesses actually work. Working directly alongside an entertainment attorney and personal manager, you'll gain:
Exposure to music deals: See how recording, publishing, and management agreements come together, from early negotiations to final signatures
Exposure to film, television, and Broadway deals: Learn how agreements are structured across other areas of entertainment, from screen to stage
An inside view of catalog work: Learn how music catalogs are valued, managed, and bought or sold
Working with record labels: Get a close look at how artists and their teams partner with labels on releases, marketing campaigns, and deal terms, and what it takes to keep those relationships running smoothly
Artist management in practice: Observe how managers guide artists' careers, handle business relationships, and make strategic decisions
Professional client communication: Develop your skills in corresponding with artists, labels, attorneys, and other industry professionals
Hands-on experience: Start by observing and assisting, then take on tasks with feedback as you build confidence
Industry connections: Work with a principal who's deeply connected across the entertainment world
What We're Looking For
Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle shifting priorities
Excellent written communication; comfort working with documents, contracts, fast typing is a plus
