Key Hair & Makeup Artist

SWAYS Movie, LLC has an opportunity for a Key Hair & Makeup Artist on an upcoming independent feature film set and shot in Hampton Bays, NY from mid-to-late September.

We are seeking a non-union, Long Island/Suffolk County local that has experience and passion to come aboard this project. The ideal candidate will have some professional experience in this role, preferably on a previous feature-length project. The candidate will need to commute to the location each day.

PRODUCTION DETAILS:
• SAG Ultra-Low Budget actor agreement
• Roughly 14 shoot days near Hampton Bays, 6 day weeks, 10-12 hour days
• September 9-25 estimated production window

Duties & responsibilities:
• Plan and apply basic makeup designs for all leading and supporting cast
• Basic hairstyles for all leading cast
• Maintain makeup and hair continuity with notes and photos
• Realistic wound/cut creation, as well as aging effects makeup

Required skills:
• Good communicator
• Able to work under pressure

• Hairstyling and makeup skills and knowledge
• Detail oriented

Equipment:
• Own hair and makeup kit

Qualifications:
• Some professional experience as a hair & makeup artist, preferably on a feature length project
