We're looking for a New York State certified teacher to provide on-site instruction and guardianship for a young performer during rehearsals and production. This is a hands-on role that combines academic instruction with the day-to-day care and supervision that keeps a child performer safe, supported, and on track at work.

Schedule and compensation

$1200/week
Monday-Saturday, 10:00 AM-6:00 PM
Start date: August 24, 2026
On-site in Midtown Manhattan (Theater District)

Responsibilities

Deliver individualized academic instruction in compliance with New York State education requirements for child performers
Serve as the responsible adult on set - supervising the performer throughout the workday, monitoring work hours and breaks, and coordinating with production staff
Maintain instructional records and communicate with the performer's home school and family
Support the performer's wellbeing in a fast-paced professional environment

Requirements

Valid New York State teaching certification (required)
Reliable, punctual, and consistent - this production depends on daily coverage
Solution-oriented, with strong interpersonal and communication skills across families, performers, and production personnel
Comfortable working independently in a professional theatrical setting

Preferred

Experience working in theatre, film, or television
Background in elementary education and experience with elementary-age students
