An attorney is needed for a temporary 6-month assignment during a colleague's leave. The assignment commences in March 2026. The attorney will handle transactional development, production, and distribution matters (including, but not limited to, production legal matters) for non-scripted programming.
Upon completion of the 6-month assignment, if there is mutual interest and pending the firm's business needs, the firm will consider retaining the attorney beyond the 6-month assignment.

Office: This is a fully remote position.
Location: You must currently reside in and work from Los Angeles, California and work Pacific Standard Time hours.
Job Duties:
(1) Handle transactional business & legal affairs matters including, but not limited to, the negotiation and drafting of agreements, related to the development, production, and distribution of non-scripted programing
(2) Handle production legal matters for non-scripted programming (including, but not limited to, on-camera talent, executive producer, and director agreements, crew deal memos, production releases (location, appearance, materials, etc.), contestant/participant agreements, series rules, production services agreements, music licenses, vendor agreements, trade out agreements and reviewing episodes for legal clearance) from casting/pre-production through delivery across different budget levels, networks/distribution platforms and programming genres.
(3) Serve as point person for day-to-day matters for certain firm clients as assigned.
(4) Work independently as well as part of a team on matters for certain firm clients as assigned, including overseeing the work of other team members for certain matters as assigned.
(5) Identify and implement improvements to forms and processes
(6) If retained beyond the initial 6-month assignment, identify and develop new clients for the firm.
Qualifications:
(1) At least between three (3) and five (5) years handling transactional business & legal affairs matters related to the development, production, and distribution of non-scripted programming, including production legal matters, for a law firm and/or production company. Experience handling production legal for large-scale non-scripted competition series programming is preferred.
(2) J.D. and member in good standing of The State Bar of California.
(3) Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills, attention to detail, and judgment.
(4) Ability to think outside the box and propose solutions to help achieve client objectives and minimize risk
(5) Ability to manage and operationalize priorities among multiple clients in an efficient, effective, and proactive manner.
(6) Ability to build and maintain relationships with other members of the team, clients, agents, managers, and other outside counsel.
(7) Ability to work well under pressure and within client and/or production deadlines.
(8) Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed to cover urgent production matters on assigned projects. (9) If retained beyond the initial 6-month assignment, desire to build and grow new business for the firm in addition to working with the firm's existing clients.
