The Role: We are looking for a highly organized and technically proficient Offline Assistant Editor to join our post-production team. You will be the backbone of our editing process, supporting our Lead Editors and ensuring our post-production pipeline runs smoothly from ingest to final turnover. Because we work across diverse workflows, mandatory proficiency in both Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro is required.
What You'll Do:
• Media Management: Ingest daily footage, transcode to offline proxies, and organize media into standardized bin structures.
• Prep for the Edit: Sync dual-system audio and video, and build multi-cam groups or stringouts for the Lead Editor.
• Maintain the Chaos: Keep project files meticulously organized, ensuring graphics, archival footage, music, and SFX are tracked and easily accessible.
• Screenings & Exports: Generate work-in-progress outputs, upload cuts for review (e.g., Frame.io, Pix), and manage watermarks/burn-ins.
• Turnovers: Generate accurate turnover files (EDLs, XMLs, AAFs, reference videos) for online, color, and audio mix teams out of both Avid and Premiere.
• Troubleshoot: Act as the first line of defense for basic software, hardware, and workflow glitches in the edit suite.
What You Bring:
• Dual-Platform Mastery: You are highly comfortable navigating, troubleshooting, and prepping projects in BOTH Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Technical Chops: Strong understanding of post-production workflows, video codecs, frame rates, aspect ratios, and digital audio formats.
• Eagle-Eye Detail: You are meticulous about file naming conventions and project organization.
• Team Player: Excellent communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with editors, producers, and post-production management.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience as a Post-Production Assistant or Assistant Editor in a professional environment.
Bonus Points If You Have:
• Experience with After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, shared storage like ISIS/Nexis, etc.
