Position Overview
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and dependable Accounting Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and time-management skills, knowledge of basic accounting procedures, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced professional environment.
The Accounting Clerk will assist with day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, deposits, cash reporting, database maintenance, and administrative support to the Accounting Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and update the booking report database.
Prepare client billing and invoices, including third-party invoices.
Track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
Prepare checks, deposits, and daily cash receipts reports.
Maintain and file cash receipt documentation.
Prepare weekly accounts payable, including coding invoices and responding to inquiries regarding payment status.
Prepare monthly credit card statements, including downloading statements, distributing them to attorney assistants, and coding expenses.
Respond promptly and professionally to attorney, client, vendor, and internal requests and inquiries.
Provide backup support to the Accounting Supervisor to help ensure the Accounting Department operates smoothly and efficiently.
Maintain and update the unscripted production grid in coordination with the assigned unscripted assistant.
Assist with monitoring budgets and payment schedules for the unscripted department.
Perform general accounting, bookkeeping, data entry, filing, and record-keeping duties as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma required; additional education or relevant accounting experience preferred.
Prior accounting experience in an entertainment law firm or comparable entertainment industry environment is required.
Knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies using sound judgment and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work independently.
High level of discretion when handling confidential and sensitive financial information.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as well as databases and accounting software.
Experience with Datafaction/AgiLink is a plus.
