Search for Manager of Production Accounting jobs in Los Angeles-CA
We are staffing Agency looking for a Manager of Production Accounting for our client an Animation Studio. This is an in-person role and candidates should be local to Los Angeles.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Reconcile and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts
- Reconcile A/P and A/R
- Manage / set up accounting systems including project budget databases
- General Ledger - Prepare and post journal entries for month/year-end
- Prepare Monthly Cost Reports
- Prepare statements of account income and expenditures for Producer and /or Production Companies
- Review accounts payable, account receivable
- Manage compliance reporting
- Manage Revenue cycle
- Oversee Accounting and cash flows
- Communicate as needed with clients, insurance companies, guarantors etc.
- Meet with and update CEO as of current standing and projections
- Communicate with CPA including preparing reports and supplying supporting documents
- Prepare weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
- Participate in monthly client calls
- Manage procurement cycle
- Manage Vendor databases
- Prepare 1099s
- Manage financial records during productions
- Cut checks
- Payroll (including timesheets, payroll edits, invoice payments and related postings)
- Data entry
- Support HR as needed
- Track and monitor project costs and overall financial status
- Short - term and extended cash forecasts.
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Set up/maintain systems of Accounting Procedures and Policies
- Set up/maintain Accounting controls and policies to minimize risks
- Recommend policies and updates to Accounting Procedures
- Special projects and other duties as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related area
- Computer savvy: MS Office- Excel - advanced, QuickBooks, Smart Accounting software
- Minimum of 5 years of Production Accounting experience (Experience in Animation A+)
- Detail oriented and accurate
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to hold confidential information
-Excellent organizational and time management skills are a MUST
- Knowledge of US GAAP.
- Knowledge of Union and SAG-AFTRA Payroll
- Experience with Entertainment Partners and Cast and Crew
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent problem-solving skills and able to remain calm and levelheaded under pressure
