CNN is seeking a detail and solutions-oriented Marketing Director to oversee brand, content, and sponsored initiatives. They'll own and develop comprehensive marketing strategies that drive revenue and grow brand affinity across key international markets and around the world.
This role will report into the Senior Director of Marketing and works collaboratively with the Creative Director to execute all marketing projects, from ideation to execution.
A successful marketing director has experience developing and implementing long lead marketing strategies, thrives in cross functional collaboration, and has a passion for news and media.
Your Role Responsibilities…
• Strategy Development: Develop and implement global marketing strategy for key initiatives to increase awareness and affinity of the brand and its subscription products.
• Project Management: Ensure the ideas become realities, managing details and requests to all internal partners to implement the strategy and timely launch.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work across the news organization to ensure alignment on brand + content + sales initiatives, user experiences, and brand messaging across all touchpoints.
• Media Planning: Provide thought leadership in owned and operated marketing levers, and paid as applicable, to maximize impact.
• Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Compliance: Serve as brand steward and ensure all marketing activations strictly adhere to global brand guidelines and standards.
Your Qualifications & Experience…
• Experience: 7+ years of experience in marketing or media, ideally at an agency or within the news media, streaming, entertainment, or tech sectors for a global brand.
• 360 Media Expertise: Broad understanding of all media types, including TV, programmatic, social, OOH, podcasts – its role and function to achieve brand goals and objectives.
• Data-Driven: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, measure campaign performance, and make data-backed decisions to optimize campaigns.
• Creative Problem-Solving: Ability to think creatively and strategically to overcome challenges and create innovative solutions.
• Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights and recommendations to stakeholders across editorial and commercial teams.
• Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple initiatives and deliver results under tight deadlines.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
• Attitude: Self-starter, curious, willingness to learn, ''client-centric,'' strong work ethics, and nimble.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience in marketing a global brand and/or in international regions is a plus.
Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
