From career growth and leadership to money, work, entrepreneurship and personal ambition, Make It helps audiences navigate the decisions that shape their professional and financial futures.
We are looking for a strong story editor and creative editorial leader with sharp news judgment, excellent storytelling instincts and a deep understanding of what engages digital audiences. This editor will play a key role in shaping Make It's daily and enterprise coverage, working closely with reporters, producers and senior editors to identify compelling angles, elevate story ideas and ensure every piece is clear, useful, memorable and true to the Make It voice.
The ideal candidate is both a rigorous editor and an imaginative thinker - someone who can sharpen a reported piece, improve structure and flow, craft irresistible headlines and leads, and help develop smart editorial franchises that connect with ambitious readers. They should be energized by stories about careers, success, leadership, money, work culture and the changing ways people define achievement.
This role requires a decisive editor who can balance speed, accuracy and creativity in a fast-moving digital newsroom. The editor will monitor the news cycle, spot emerging trends, assign and shape stories, and collaborate across editorial and audience teams to produce journalism that is timely, engaging and often service-driven.
Successful candidates will bring strong editorial judgment, high standards, collaborative energy and a passion for helping Make It's audience learn, grow and get ahead.
This role is based in Englewood Cliffs, NJ and reports to CNBC's Deputy Managing Editor for Money & Success.
